Pick the OLED or the LCD and see the lowest current prices on eBay, the biggest used market, next to the retail price so you know exactly what you are saving. We also show you what to check before buying a used Steam Deck.
Live from eBayOLED or LCD. The OLED model is the one to want if the price gap is small: a brighter HDR screen, longer battery life, lighter weight and a quieter, cooler build. Real-world game performance is close between the two, so the LCD is still an excellent handheld and the smart pick when it is much cheaper. Decide which you are buying before you shop, because the used prices overlap and it is easy to overpay for the wrong one.
Check the sticks, screen and fan. The three things that actually go wrong are thumbstick drift, dead pixels and a noisy fan. Ask the seller to confirm the sticks are true, the screen is clean, and the fan is quiet, ideally with a short video. Drift and a grinding fan are repairable but a hassle, so they are worth a lower price or walking away. Check the battery still holds a reasonable charge, though this degrades slowly on the Deck.
Storage is cheap to upgrade, so buy on condition. Every Steam Deck takes a microSD card, and the internal SSD can be swapped on most models, so do not overpay for the biggest storage tier when a smaller one in better condition plus a memory card is cheaper. Confirm it has been reset and signed out of the previous owner's account so you start clean.
Value. Steam Decks hold value well and are built to last, so a lightly-used one at 20-40% below retail is strong value; the OLED is worth a premium only when the gap over a clean LCD is modest.

Usually yes when the used price gap is small: brighter HDR screen, better battery life, lighter and quieter. If the LCD is much cheaper, it is still a great handheld and the value pick.
Often, at 20-40% off retail. The Deck is well built, easy to service and storage-upgradable. Check for stick drift, dead pixels, a healthy fan and battery, and that it has been reset.
That it boots to SteamOS, the screen and sticks are good, the fan is quiet, the charger is included, and it has been factory reset. Total price with shipping is the number that matters.
A daily snapshot of the lowest genuine eBay price for every model we track, and how good that price is right now versus its usual level, updated automatically. Prices last refreshed 1 August 2026 . Tap a model above for the full live list.
"Off retail" compares today's used price with what the model cost new. For models still on sale that is the current price; for discontinued ones it is the launch price, so it shows how far the model has depreciated rather than a discount you could get on a new one.
